‘Stronger Futures’

After five years of the Northern Territory Emergency Response (NTER, more commonly called the Intervention), the government looks set to pass the Stronger Futures legislation that will extend the Intervention for another 10 years. This is a great overview of some of the key changes in this legislation, and how critics have responded to them.

My research focuses on the intersect between western science and Indigenous Knowledge, specifically looking about how Indigenous Knowledge can foster adaptation to climate impacts at the local level. I’m also interested in the indirect impacts of climate change on Indigenous communities, particularly on psychosocial health.
